Kolay’s Acoustically Integrated LVT Free Lay® System is an innovative waterproof flooring that is installed the same way as a traditional Glue Down LVT, except the adhesive is only around the perimeter like a carpet tile installation. The natural beauty of wood, stone, marble, leather, cork, solid colors, basket weave or any image can be manufactured and installed, eliminating the need for any unattractive transitions between designs.

Acoustical Value of LVT

Kolay’s Acoustically Integrated LVT Free Lay® System features an Acoustical Pad, Underlayment, and LVT All-In-One Product. With IIC Ratings of 51-60 and STC Ratings of 60-65, this is the perfect solution for customers who need LVT plus an Acoustical Pad. IIC and STC ratings vary based on construction.

Cost Savings

Kolay’s Acoustical Integrated Free Lay® System is an Acoustical LVT in it of itself. This reduces the installation and adhesive costs.

Installation

Kolay’s Free Lay® System requires only a perimeter adhesive, which will install at least 50% faster than a traditional glue down LVT installation. Please note: acclimation is determined by temperature, not moisture.

Waterproof

Kolay’s Free Lay® System is waterproof top to bottom.

Concrete Conditions

Kolay’s Free Lay® System does not require any testing for moisture levels in the concrete, for pH, or RH levels.

Ease Of Repair

If Kolay’s Free Lay® System is damaged, it is not necessary for a certified professional installer to replace damaged pieces.

Kolay’s Click LVT System is an interlocking waterproof system. The natural beauty of wood, stone, marble, leather, cork, solid colors, basket weave or any image can be manufactured and installed, but does need transitions between designs and for long-running areas. Kolay’s Click LVT System can be installed directly over concrete for most applications.

Acoustical Value of LVT

Kolay’s Click LVT System offers limited acoustical value in its own. A Kolay Preferred Rubber Underlayment of 2, 3, 5, or 10mm thickness should be used depending on the acoustical requirement of the project. IIC and STC ratings vary based on construction and thickness of the underlayment installed.

Note

Soft, low density foam type pads will cause the locking system to separate under normal traffic conditions.

Cost Savings

Once flooring is acclimated to the space, installation can start immediately. There is no downtime or adhesive costs. Acclimation is determined by temperature, not moisture.

Speed Of Installation

Installs about 40% faster than traditional Glue Down.

Waterproof

Kolay’s Click LVT System is waterproof top to bottom. When installed properly, Kolay’s Click LVT System is impermeable.

Concrete Conditions

Kolay’s Click LVT System does not require any testing for moisture levels in the concrete, for pH, or RH levels.

Ease Of Repair

Although replacing a damaged piece is relatively easy, it may need the assistance of a flooring professional.

Kolay’s Glue Down LVT System is top of the line for size, image, and embossing options. The natural beauty of wood, stone, marble, leather, cork, solid colors, or any image can be manufactured and installed but does need transitions between designs and for long-running areas..

Acoustical Value of LVT

Kolay’s Glue Down LVT System has limited Acoustical Value. Performance is dependent upon overall thickness and wear layer. To reach IIC and STC ratings, a double stick glue application is required.

Cost Savings

Cost is based on two (2) factors: thickness (2mm – 4mm) and wear layer (8mil – 40mil). Size, image, and embossing does not affect the cost. For direct concrete installation, this is the least expensive LVT available if no floor prep is required.

Speed Of Installation

Traditional Glue Down installation is the slowest installation method for multiple factors: Concrete has to be extremely smooth to avoid transfer issues. The Time involved with spreading adhesive. And Clean up.

Waterproof

Kolay’s Glue Down LVT System is waterproof top to bottom while the adhesive is not. Thus, the concrete conditions are everything for this product.

Concrete Conditions

Kolay’s Glue Down LVT System requires testing for moisture, pH, and RH levels in the concrete.

Ease Of Repair

Replacing a damaged piece will require a flooring professional.

SPC® stands for Stone Plastic Composite.

As a leading innovator in resilient flooring we are always looking for ways to improve and advance technology. Like many of our competitors, several years ago we used WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) in our click systems. In 2015 we were experiencing problems with installations of WPC products especially when they were exposed to moisture. We began researching to determine if the backing could be made more stable. During this time we were also close to introducing our Dura Wear Wall Protection and Ceiling Tile product lines which were also in need of a good stable backing system.

Through our research and development team we determined late 2015 that instead of using a wood powder component in the backing, a ground up stone powder had far superior performance characteristics. We were the first US company to introduce the product at the 2016 Surfaces International Trade show in our Dura-Wear product line. After receiving a very strong initial response we registered the product at the US Patent and Trademark office on January 20 of 2017 and were granted the trademark October 10, 2017. Since 2016 we have featured this construction in all of our click planks, Dura Wear Wall protection products and Ceiling tiles.

Additional backings may be applied to our SPC construction for enhanced acoustical properties.

Acoustical Value of LVT

Kolay’s SPC® Click System can have an Acoustical Pad attached to become an all-in-one High Performance LVT Product. IIC and STC ratings vary based on construction.

Cost Savings

Once flooring is acclimated to the space, installation can start immediately. There is no downtime or adhesive costs. Acclimation is determined by temperature, not moisture. Further than reduction in costs for adhesive, Kolay’s SPC® Click System can be value engineered by being made into 4mm and 5mm overall thickness; reducing the cost of materials.

Speed Of Installation

Installs about 40% faster than traditional Glue Down.

Waterproof

Kolay SPC® Click is waterproof top to bottom.

Concrete Conditions

Kolay’s SPC® Click System does not require any testing for moisture levels in the concrete, for pH, or RH levels.

Ease Of Repair

Although replacing a damaged piece is relatively easy, it may need the assistance of a flooring professional.
