Quiet Step Vinyl underlayment

Vinyl underlay is the most popular underlayment for flooring. This is due to the fact that vinyl is the cheapest underlay option but still provides excellent sound reduction properties. Vinyl is very easy to install and is popular under click and other floating floor systems. Many vinyl underlays have an attached vapor barrier which helps protect both the floor and underlay. Installing vinyl underlayment is a breeze and can be glued, nailed, stapled or taped. Vinyl underlay is mildew and mold resistant and will also maintain its acoustical properties overtime.

Rubber underlayment

Rubber underlayment is one of the best underlayments for a wide array of flooring types. This underlay features some of the best sound resistant properties and is one of the most versatile underlayments we offer. This underlay can be installed in areas where water may be an issue and is great over wood and concrete subfloors. When installing rubber underlay, it is recommended that it be loose laid, but it can be installed with double-sided tape, glue, nails, or staples. Rubber underlay is mildew and mold resistant and helps keep the cold air from the subfloor coming up to your feet.
